Fiji TV has partnered with organisers of the Fiji International golf tournament to extend regional coverage of Fiji’s biggest ever sporting event.

One of the leading television broadcasters in Fiji and the Pacific region, Fiji TV has been granted non-exclusive free to air rights and exclusive pay television rights for the event to be played from August 14 – 17.

Fiji TV will broadcast both live coverage and highlights of the four-day tournament which will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.

In addition to its coverage through Fiji, the Fiji International will be broadcast live by Fiji TV on its Fiji One and SKY Pacific television platform.  The coverage will be broadcast across the Pacific, including American Samoa, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Cook Islands.

On behalf of the tournament promoters Basil Scaffidi, Managing Director of Sports and Entertainment Limited, said he was pleased to be partnering with Fiji TV.

“The Fiji International will be a great television spectacle for Fiji,” he said.

“Promoting the Fijian people, community and culture the broadcast will be about much more than just a golf tournament and we’re pleased that so many in the wider Pacific region will be able to watch the golf tournament via Fiji TV.”

Supported by the Fijian Government, the inaugural Fiji International will be played from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th August at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.

Fiji’s Vijay Singh will compete in the golf tournament.

The tournament will be broadcast to an international audience of approximately 400 million homes in over 30 countries.
