The Fiji International is bringing golf to cities across Fiji in the coming weeks thanks to the “Give Golf a Go” Road Show scheduled to start in Vatukarasa Village this week.

The aim of the “Give Golf a Go” Road Show is to provide all Fijians the opportunity to experience golf. As part of the Road Show, everyone who attends will be able to “Give Golf a Go” by hitting a golf shot into the Fiji International blow up hitting bay which will be travelling around the country.

While everyone can share in the excitement of golf thanks to the Fiji International, there will also be great cash prizes given away at each destination. Five lucky participants will receive a $100 cash prize at the end of each session which will be run from 11am – 3pm at each destination of the Fiji International “Give Golf a Go” Road Show.

First time golfers will also be in for treat with a “Raw Talent” competition whereby anyone showing a natural gift for golf will be given a golf club to take home and practice their swing. There will be other gifts given away to people who participate in the Fiji International “Give Golf a Go” Road Show.

Participants will also be treated to free tickets to watch the 2016 Fiji International at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course from 6-9 October where you can watch some of the world’s best golfers in action including World Number 23 Brandt Snedeker and Fiji’s own Vijay Singh. There will be plenty of other exciting activities happening at the tournament; the Fiji International will be fun for the whole family.

The Fiji International “Give Golf a Go” Road Show will be visiting the following areas on Viti Levu between now and the tournament:

  • Vatukarasa Village – Saturday, 27th August
  • Nausori – Saturday, 3rd September
  • Sigatoka – Saturday, 10th September
  • Pacific Harbour – Saturday, 17th September
  • Navua – Sunday, 18th September
  • Nadi – Saturday, 24th September
  • Lautoka – Sunday, 25th September
  • Suva – Saturday, 1st October

About the Fiji International:

The Fiji International will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course from 6-9 October for AU$1.5million in prizemoney with tickets on sale at the gate and online and kids under the age of 16 admitted free with a paying adult.

Enticed by the tropical destination World Number 23 Brandt Snedeker will headline a field which also stars Fijian hero and three time Major Champion Vijay Singh.

This year, the Fiji International expands its global presence and confirms its position as an integral tournament in the South Pacific region, with the tournament being co-sanctioned by the European Tour and ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.

A pacific paradise, the Fiji International also boasts some of the most unique hospitality options in world golf with the par-3 4th hole providing the perfect vantage point to watch the golf, whilst socialising on the beach.

More than just a golf tournament, the Fiji International aims to leave a lasting legacy for golf in the Pacific region, with the PGA of Australia supporting initiatives to introduce and grow the game in Fiji.

The Fiji International is proudly supported by InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa as the official resort of the tournament until 2017.
