The Fiji International has been boosted with Westpac today renewing their partnership with the tournament.
After a successful first year together in 2016, Westpac were delighted to extend the deal to again become the Official Bank of the Fiji International in 2017.
The one year deal will also see Westpac continue to be the naming rights sponsor of the international and domestic volunteer programs.
Each year the Fiji International attracts approximately 200 volunteers, including more than 30 internationals, to work on the tournament in roles such as walking scorers, leader board attendants, hydration assistants and many others.
In a major boost to the community, Westpac have also lent their support to the Fiji International Schools Program, an initiative to promote the game of golf at a grass roots level across the country in the lead up to the 17-20 August tournament.
“We are really excited to partner once again with the Fiji International Golf Tournament – it’s through International events like this that we can accelerate our support for the thriving Fiji tourism industry. The extensive TV coverage of the tournament around the world gives Fiji an opportunity to be showcased as a destination – showing more people what a wonderful place it is to visit. “Brett Hooker, Westpac Fiji’s General Manager, said.
“We play a more important role than being Official Bank for the tournament. Our sponsorship has a strong community focus and we will also be involved in a nation-wide schools program that will teach kids and parents about the importance of an active lifestyle – so essential given the prevalence of lifestyle diseases here in Fiji – alongside information on financial fitness taken from our own financial literacy programs.”
The support of partners like Westpac is integral to the success of the Fiji International but also to the tournaments aim of providing long lasting golf initiatives to local communities.
“We’re very excited to have Westpac supporting the Fiji International as the Official Bank of the tournament once again in 2017,” Matt Porm, Director of Commercial for the Fiji International, said.
“However Westpac’s support extends much further away from the golf course with their involvement with the Fiji International Schools Program.”
“The Fiji International aims to leave a lasting legacy of golf in Fiji, as well as introduce healthy living and future planning initiatives to benefit local communities, Westpac is assisting us with these goals.”
Westpac is committed to providing the people of Fiji with a range of overseas banking solutions inclusive of various personal and business loans, bank accounts, internet banking and term deposits and it’s their loyal customers who are set to benefit from Westpac’s relationship with the Fiji International.
